Former Pink Sox Will Middlebrooks Raises 1000’s After Childhood Pal Jonathan Worth Killed By Police


dangolka (CBS) – Former Pink Sox infielder Will Middlebrooks has raised greater than $60,000 for the household of childhood buddy Jonathan Worth after he was shot and killed by a police officer in North Texas.

The Texas Rangers say Worth, a Black man, was shot and killed by Wolfe Metropolis Police Officer Shaun David Lucas throughout an incident at a gasoline station.

Relations stated Worth intervened in a battle between a pair. Lucas encountered Worth, who the Rangers stated resisted arrest in a non-threatening posture and walked away. Lucas allegedly tried to subdue Worth with a stun gun, then fatally shot him.

Lucas was arrested Monday night time and had bond set at $1 million for Worth’s demise. The officer was launched on bond and the circumstances surrounding his lethal use of drive stays underneath investigation.

Middlebrooks, who gained a World Sequence with the Pink Sox in 2013, was childhood associates with Worth.
