Alastair Cook's England won the first Test as South Africa got 214 & 174 in their respective innings

Cook described the 241-run first-Test win in Durban as "relentless" and wants them to back that up at Newlands so they can take an unassailable 2-0 lead in the four-match series.

There has just been two days' turnaround between the first and second Tests but Cook has challenged his players to repeat the back-to-back performances at Edgbaston and Trent Bridge last summer that sealed the surprise Ashes triumph against Australia.

"We were up and down a lot in 2015," said Cook. "It was great to finish with a real relentless performance. Can we do it again? Can we have an Edgbaston, Trent Bridge fortnight and can we do that in Durban and Cape Town? With the number of English people here, it's going to be a great Test to be part of."
